Business Relationship Manager – Kokopo
About the Role:
This position is based in Kokopo, and reports to the Business Development Manager of BSP Life PNG Limited. The primary purpose of the role is to effectively contribute to the achievement of the organization’s strategic and tactical sales plans by providing high quality leadership, administrative oversight and technical support in line with BSP Life strategic initiatives.
Key Deliverables:
- Oversee and manage the Insurance Advisor Network, providing regular performance reports to the Business Development Manager regarding the Sales Unit’s outcomes.
- Achieve the Sales Unit’s new business sales targets while ensuring the retention and conservation of existing business.
- Lead, inspire, and guide Insurance Advisors to capitalize on external opportunities, adhere to a needs-based selling approach, and effectively manage after-sales service to meet new business and persistency targets.
- Monitor individual sales agent performance, offering targeted support in areas such as planning, prospecting, presentation techniques, closing, and post-sales administration. Provide on-the-job training as necessary.
- Manage the operations of the sales unit within the established expense budget, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory, legislative, and company policies and procedures.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by onboarding private and government entities to facilitate premium payments via salary deduction, while building and nurturing strong relationships with these entities and key stakeholders to expand the customer base.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Business related field is preferred with at least 5 years of Sales Management experience, preferably in the Insurance industry.
- Proven leadership capabilities and ability to lead a diverse group of individuals to achieve a common goal;
- Commitment to meeting deadlines, good time management techniques, planning, and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Methodical in approach, attention to detail, and strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good Knowledge of the Industry and Insurance Products as well as Sales & Service Processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good command of verbal and written communications and can establish and maintain key business relationships and networks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
