Sales Manager – Group Term Life
About the Role
This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Head of Sales. The successfulincumbent will be responsible for growing the Group Term Life portfolio, managing allGroup Term Life in force business, and provide support to the Head of Sales in all facetsof sales and administration of the GTL portfolio.
Key Deliverables
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet or exceed the assigned sales targets within all distribution channel.
- Regularly track and report on sales performance, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, Direct Clients, and key stakeholders, ensuring their ongoing engagement and commitment to BSP Life PNG’s product offerings.
- Support HOS to conduct regular performance reviews with brokers to identify opportunities for growth and areas of improvement.
- Support HOS to provide tailored support to brokers, including product training, sales coaching, and strategic business advice.
- Assist HOS to monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Drive the acquisition of new clients through the various channel, ensuring a steady pipeline of potential policyholders.
- Implement retention strategies that help brokers build long-term relationships with clients, maximizing customer lifetime value.
- Assist HOS to develop and maintain a comprehensive sales reporting system to track performance across brokers and product lines.
- Assist HOS to provide detailed analysis and insights on sales trends, conversion rates, and market penetration to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure all broker activities comply with relevant local regulations, industry standards, and BSP Life PNG’s internal policies.
- Work closely with underwriting, claims, customer service, and other departments to ensure a seamless experience for customers.
- Assist HOS to identify and pursue new business opportunities within all channels, expanding into untapped markets or segments.
- Gather feedback from brokers and customers to continuously improve service delivery and client satisfaction levels.
- Support HOS to represent BSP Life PNG in industry events, broker meetings, and public forums, acting as an advocate for the company’s vision, values, and product offerings.
- Promote the BSP Life PNG brand in the broker network and ensure consistent messaging across all sales and marketing channels.
Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance marketing or related insurance qualifications.
- Ability to interact at a senior management level.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think conceptually. Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Good planning, time management and organizing ability.
- Must be able to communicate well in both written and oral English.
- Computer literate with skills in Microsoft Office Software in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong Presentation Skills.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior level management role for life insurance company.
- Good knowledge of insurance products and services available in the local and foreign markets.
